“فيأخذ الجوهر في دينه أو ما وجب له منه، ثم سافرنا من سيراف إلى مدينة البحرين، وهي مدينة كبيرة حسنة ذات بساتين وأشجار وأنهار، وماؤها قريب المؤونة يحفر عليه بالأيدي فيوجد، وبها حدائق النخل والرمان والأترج، يزرع بها القطن وهي شديدة الحر كثيرة الرمال وربما غلب الرمل على بعض منازلها وكان فيما بينها وبين عمان طريق استولت عليه الرمال وانقطع"” 3
“ومن مدن عمان مدينة زكي لم أدخلها، وهي على ما ذكر لي، مدينة عظيمة منها القريات وشبا وكلبا وخورفكان وصحار، وكلها ذات أنهار وحدائق وأشجار ونخل، وأكثر هذه البلاد في عمالة هرمز.” 2
