“قال ابن جزي: عبّادان كانت بلدا فيما تقدّم، وهي مجدبة لا زرع بها، وانّما بجلب اليها، والماء أيضا بها قليل.” 3
“من مبلغ أندلسا أنّني#حللت عبّادان أقصى الثّرى#أوحش ما أبصرت لا كنّني#قصدت فيها ذكرها في الورى#الخبز فيها يتهادونه#وشربة الماء بها تشترى.#[...] وذكر لي أهل هذه الزاوية أنّ بعبّادان عابدا كبير القدر [...] فلمّا وصلنا عبّادان لم يكن لي شأن إلا طلبه [...] ومن عادة ذلك الفقير أن يأتي عبّادان كلّ ليلة فيسرج السرج بمساجدها، ثم يعود إلى زاويته. فلما وصل إلى عبّادان وجد الرجل العابد فأعطاه سمكة طريّة” 4
