“ثم رحلنا من عسفان، ونزلنا بطن مرّ، ويسمى أيضا مرّ الظهران، وهو واد مخصب كثير النخل، ذو عين فوارة سيالة تسقى تلك النّاحية. ومن هذا الوادي تجلب الفواكه والخضر إلى مكة شرفها الله تعالى.” 3
“وتجلب لها الفواکه والحضر من الطائف ووادي نخلة وبطن مر، لطفا من الله بسكان حرمه الأمين ومجاوري بيته العتيق.” 4
“وخرجنا بعد طواف الوداع الى بطن مر، في جمع من العراقين والخراسانين والفارسيين والأعاجم، لا يحصى عديدهم تموج بهم الأرض موجاً، وينسيرون سير السحاب المتراكم.” 5
“وفي هذا الركب الأسواق الحافلة والمرافق العظيمة وأنواع الأطعمة والفواكه وهم يسيرون باللّيل ويوقدون المشاعل أمام القطار والمحارات، فترى الأرض تتلألأ نورا والليل قد عاد نهارا ساطعا ثم رحلنا من بطن مرّ إلى عسفان، ثم إلى خليص ثم رحلنا أربع مراحل ونزلنا وادي السمك، ثم رحلنا خمسا ونزلنا في بدر"” 6
