ولمّا حصلت لي زيارة الشيخ أبى العباس الرفاعي نفع الله به، عدت إلى مدينة واسط، فوجدت الرفقة التي كنت فيها قد رحلت، فلحقتها في الطريق ونزلنا ماء يعرف بالهضيب11
ولمّا نزلنا مدينة واسط أقامت القافلة ثلاثا بخارجها للتجارة. فسنح لي زيارة قبر الولي أبي العباس أحمد الرفاعي، وهو بقرية تعرف بأم عبيدة، على مسيرة يوم من واسط10
يحكى أن الشيخ الولي أحمد الرفاعي رضي الله عنه كان مسكنه بأم عبيدة بمقربة من مدينة واسط، وكانت بين ولي الله تعالى أبي مدين شعيب ابن الحسين وبينه مؤاخاة ومراسلة8
