والنوبة من وراء مصر والنوجة وراء عيذاب والحبش وراء زيلع” 3
“ومن الغريب أن المطر ببلاد الهند واليمن والحبشة إنّما ينزل في أيام القيظ، وأكثر ما يكون نزوله بعد الظهر من كلّ يوم في ذلك الأوان. فالمسافرون عند الزوال ائلا يصيبهم المطر وأهل المدينة ينصرفون إلى منازلهم لأن امطارها وابلة متدفّقة.” 5
“وهم ابن بطوطة في قوله: إت النهر الأعظم الذي وصل إليه هو النيا، فإنما هو نهر النيجر، فهو الذي يمر بالبلدان التي ذكرها، ومنابعها في شمال سير اليون، وليبيريا، ويصب في المحيط الأطلسي، أما نهر النيل فتقع عليه دنقلة، وبلاد النوبة، ومنابعه في أوغندا، وتنغانيقا، وتصل إليه الأمطار التي تسقط صيفا على جبال الحبشة، فيكون فيضانه.” 6
