ܘܐܝܬ ܒܕܘܟܬܗ ܩܪܝܬܳܐ ܕܡܶܬܐܡܰܪ ܠܳܗ̇ ܐܰܒܘܣܰܪܰܐܝ (ܒܨܝܪܗ̈) ” 2
“بلد على نهر الخابور عند مصبه في الفرات خرب وفي
موضعه قرية ابو سراي (بصيرة).” 3
“ثم يمتد الفرات على ديار العرب حتى ينتهي الى الرقة
وقرقيسيا والرحبة والدالية وعانة والحديثة وهيت والانبارالى الكوفة” 8
“[A] town in al-D̲j̲azīra on the left bank of the
Euphrates, close to the confluence of the
K̲h̲ābūr, a little above 35° N. Lat. Ḳarḳīsiyā is
simply an Arabic reproduction of the Graeco-Roman name (τό) Κιρκήσιον, (τό)
Κιρτήσιον κάστρον or Κιρκίσιον” 9 .
“A town near the place where the
Khabur joins the
Euphrates; it no longer exists. On its site
lies the village of Abu Saray (Busayra).” 4
