“ثمّ رحلنا إلى مرسى الحادث ولم ننزل به، ثم إلى مرسى الأبواب، ثم إلى مدينة زبيد، مدينة عظيمة باليمن بينها وبين صنعاء أربعون فرسخاً، وليس باليمن بعد صنعاء أكبر منها، ولا أغنى من أهلها” 4
“فوصلت الى بلدة السرجة (وضبط اسمها بفتح السين المهمل وإسكان الراء وفتح الجيم)، بلدة صغيرة يسكنها جماعة من أولاد الهلبي، وهم طائفة من تجار اليمن، أكثرهم ساكنون بصنعاء” 3
“وانصرفت مسافراً الى مدينة صنعاء، وهي قاعدة بلاد اليمن الأولى.” 5
“وجامع صنعاء من أحسن الجوامع، وفيه قبر نبي من الأنبياء عليهم السلام. ثم سافرنا منها الى مدينة عدن، مرسى بلاد اليمن، على ساحل البحرالأعظم.” 6
