A town in the north of the
Arabian Peninsula. The town is part of the Darb Zubayda, the famous pilgrim highway,
from al-ʿIrāq to Ḥijāz.

“ثم رحلنا ونزلنا الثعلبية، ولها حصن خرب بازائه مصنع هائل ينزل إليه في درج، وبه من ماء المطر ما يعم الركب. ويجتمع من العرب بهذا الموضع جمع عظيم فيبيعون الجمال والغنم والسمن واللبن. ومن هذا الموضع إلى الكوفة ثلاث مراحل.” 2
This settlement is about a three-day journey from Kufa.
